Majahual and Xcalak, Mexico

The Costa Maya in Quintana Roo, has two settlements large enough to be called villages, Majahual and Xcalac.

Costa de Cocos

Xcalac located at the southern part of the Quintana Roo State. For a long time the only visitors in town were divers who were on the way to the Chinchorro bank, but there are huge projects that involve the Costa Maya, this region is developing low impact hotels and services having as target the ecotourism market.
There are facilities and small hotels that receive divers, birdwatchers and sport fishermen. The nearby area is also attractive, the dense jungle and the beautiful lagoons are an invitation to walk and explore the zone.
You can get here via 307 road starting either in Cancun or Chetumal or by private airplane.
